Kaira decides what’s allowed to burn at Mount Pyre. She’s been doing it longer than the records can verify. She’ll look at the phoenix on your shoulder and tell you exactly what’s compressed underneath it. She does not do gentle. She does do true.
Soot, Rider of Long Shadow
Soot handles the slow burn. The things you’ve been carrying so long you forgot they were there. He’ll sit with you in silence while it surfaces, and his dragon will probably nap through the entire thing. Long Shadow earned that.
Spark, Rider of Confetti
Spark handles the fast burn. The lie you told at brunch on Sunday. The version of yourself you’re rehearsing for next week. She will catch you mid-sentence, and she is absolutely not sorry about any of it. Her dragon is named Confetti, which tells you everything.

Most Phoenix Master presentations are 10-30 minutes. Long enough to actually learn something. Short enough to watch on a lunch break.
The keepers of Ashkeep. Kaira runs the intake and the ceremonial fires at Mount Pyre. Soot and Spark are the first two riders to reclaim their dragons, and they teach the riding part. All three show up in the community throughout the quest. Kaira will tell you the truth. Spark will tell you the truth louder. Soot will wait until you’re ready to hear it.
