What is The Witches Road™ Tarot?
I started building, and growing, The Witches Road™ almost two years ago. Twelve Ancient Witches, each one keeping her own month of the year. Brigit at her forge in January. Morrigan at the crossroads in October. Cinder by the embers in December, with everything finally set down.
The tarot deck is that road, made into cards.
It follows the traditional structure.
22 Major Arcana.
56 Minor Arcana across four suites.
Every load bearing symbol in the tradition is honored, because the system is older than most things you own and it earns its keep. What changes is the world the cards live in.
The twelve witches hold most of the Major Arcana positions.
- Brigit is The Magician: fire brought down from the divine and made practical
- Morrigan is Death, which will surprise no one who has ever met her
- Cinder is The Fool, card zero, the exhale before the year begins again
- The pillars of The High Priestess are ancient trees
- The Wheel of Fortune is the sabbat wheel, eight spokes, always turning
I am card 20. Judgment. The Road Keeper at the gate, calling travelers forward.
And in every single card, somewhere, is the road. Sometimes it is the whole scene. Sometimes it is a cobblestone path in the far background that you will not notice until the third time you pull that card. It’s always there. That’s The Sparkleverse™. The Art:
Every card is illustrated in the same style: dark atmospheric backgrounds, fine detailed linework, rich jewel tones that glow from the inside, gold sacred geometry drifting through the sky like the stars have opinions about arrangement.
Each card keeps its own palette.
- Death is midnight blue and cold silver with one thin line of violet at the horizon, because transformation waits on the other side of every ending and the card should say so.
- The Sun is gold and ivory and full noon light with nowhere to hire, which is the entire meaning of the card.
- The Star is deep indigo night against warm amber candlelight.
78 cards, each its own world, all unmistakably one world.
The Guidebook:
Most tarot guidebooks are a pamphlet with delusions of usefulness. Card name, some keywords, short description, good luck. This one is not that.
Every card gets a full entry:
- The traditional meaning with the symbolism actually unpacked
- The Witches Road™ interpretation
- An upright reading
- A shadow reading
- Plus a note from me about what the card feels like when you pull it at the wrong moment. Because you will. Everyone pulls The Tower eventually, and nobody is happy about it.
Inside, you’ll find: spreads for all eight sabbats, transitions and grief, a plain-language guide to the four suits, the Fool’s Journey explained as a road trip, and a section on reversals for people who find them confusing or annoying.

You do not need to know ny of this to read with the deck. The traditional meanings stand entirely on their own, but the deck is a door, and the world is on the other side of it, and the door is unlocked, waiting for you to step through.
